As an artist with a scientific background, I have drawn on my research career to develop an art practice that focuses around the interaction between art, science and health. I originally studied genetics and statistics and then worked within research as a biostatistician. In 2005, I made the decision to give up my job and went back to college to study art and have also recently completed an MA in Arts and Health at Glamorgan University.
My interests lie within collaborative ways of working, the slippage of language between art and science, public participation and visually elucidating meaning through metaphor. I employ a multi-media approach as I am very much led by the physicality of materials and how that fits in with the underlying concept. Thankyou for your interest in my work and I hope you find the themes it explores of interest.
